Before the day
Information we need from you
Please email your trainer with the names and roles of those attending, no later than 3 weeks before your first training day.
Pre-coursework for all attendees
As an attendee, you’ll get more from the day if you do this one piece of pre-work:
- Two-three weeks before the day, attendees need to complete this form: https://ukheadsup.com/preparation-successful-difficult-conversations-training-day/
This asks you some questions about a current difficult conversation you need to have (not one you’ve already had). The issue might be one you are already talking about but hasn’t been resolved or one you need to start talking about. - We recommend everyone gives us their hardest conversation because then we can help you most.
You don’t have to fill the form in before the day, but it helps people focus on the conversation they need to have most of all.
What we need on the day
Online session:
- For the duration of the training try to find a space where you are not distracted.
- You don’t need to use headphones but can choose to use them if you prefer.
- Use separate devices during the training – you’ll get more from the session than if you share.
What to expect
How is your training delivered?
The most effective way of delivering this training is online using zoom. You can join from one location on one shared device or from multiple locations on multiple devices (we recommend the latter). Your trainer will send you the zoom meeting link beforehand, please share the link with all the participants.
Who delivers your training?
We will introduce you to your trainer in advance of your session. You can learn more about our trainers here https://ukheadsup.com/about-us/meet-the-team/
Your trainer will introduce themselves to you via email thereafter and answer any pre-course questions you may have.
What can you expect on the day?
We’re here to help you move those difficult conversations forward so expect lots of learning and self-reflection.

Let your trainer know and they will let you if it’s appropriate for them to join at this stage or a later stage.
This can affect the course and the impact we can make so we prefer if it you don’t. However, sometimes it is unavoidable. Please get in touch with your trainer and they will do what they can. We don’t like to charge cancellation fees if dates have to be moved, but sometimes we need to. You can see details of these charges at https://ukheadsup.com/terms-conditions/
We might need to charge for travel if we’ve booked tickets.
Let us know as soon as you can and we’ll cancel the training day (no charge) and be in touch a little while after they have gone (good luck!).
If you have any questions about your training not covered here or in your booking confirmation e-mail please get in touch with your trainer.
